Back to the lake, earlier this time. I started fishing at 7:30am. I brought my tube which hasn't been used in 17 years! It still floats, happy to say. I started off with trolling a black leach on my sinking line, which gave no results. After 1/2 hr I switched to a size 12 Montana nymph and moved in close to shore, casting and stripping back. Bam! A strong 13 inch rainbow hit it hard. Caught and released. I fished the shore for awhile and then again changed to a name-less nymph with silver banding. This produced several hits and one hook up, but no fish to the tube. I called it a day at 9:30 to get home to my Saturday chores. There were about seven boats out fishing, all trolling and some having moderate success. Made me wish this lake was a special regs lake. It's just so pretty, it would be great to have more catch and release and less put and take. Seems like it would make a perfect choice for a quality fishery.
