After many moons, I finally got a chance to get on the water again. Loaded the boat on Friday night and didn't get a chance to use it until Monday morning....tough weekend. Decided to target SMB at Pine, so got to the lake about 6am. One lonely soul on the pier. I fished mainly with a wacky rigged pumpkinseed Senko and a chartruse grub on a jig head. Water temp. was 79 degrees! I had to test it multiple times to believe it, but that is what I kept reading. Fished docks and lillypads. Lots of dinks in action. Many too small to swallow the hook, but some were scrappers and gave me some fun. I did hook into something that had some weight to it, but the hook didn't take, so never saw it. Pretty toasty when the sun got above the trees. Quit at 9am.

At this rate, the next one should be coming sometime around October! :)
Thanks for the words of encouragement. It was nice to be on the water again....even if it was warmer than the ambient temperature.

I hear ya there, I have something going on almost every weekend..I do get to go fish for smallies this weekend for a few hours on the Columbia(Ashes). The last couple times I have been down there, I personally lost a 4+ smallie and seen 2 that were 3.5 and 4..sadly though, those 2 that I witnessed being caught were put on a stringer...

Wow, that is just crazy. Talk about hot tub water.
