I came looking for trout at the very southern end of the lake, past the Rock Lake Road Bridge. I couldn't find anything like a deep channel to fish, and I never saw anything I could positively identify as trout, but I think I saw a couple guys with a big (20"?) brook trout across the way. A couple other guys said they were getting bites from the bridge on nightcrawlers. I did see a fair size largemouth bass (16") jump right in front of me in the shallows. Unfortunately, I had no idea how to catch it. I never got a bite myself.
The weather was high overcast, 65 degrees cooling to 45 as dark fell. There was no wind and it was a very pleasant evening fishing and chatting with my friend.
