I needed to get the boat washed down again after my venture into the salt and decided to give the cutts a try while I was at it. I ran up to the North side of the 520 bridge and started marking fish on the East side between 25' and 100' down. I decided to try a little pre-fishing for the Silvers and put down a rattle plug at 90' to see if I'd get any takers. Made two passes by the bridge with no action so I switched to my standard flasher and mini hoochie. Picked up a nice, fat, rainbow at 35' down and a couple of kokes at 50'. The surface temps were hovering right around 70 degrees so the fish were released and seemed none the worse for wear. The fun came around Hunt's Point at 50' down when Mr. Resident Chinook came a callin'. They are a blast on light tackle and an absolute tease in this lake. This guy went about 4lbs and was really worn out by the time I could get the hook out of his mouth. Ran up to Sand Point and trolled between there and Thorton Creek for a bit with no hits so I packed it up and headed home. There seem to be a lot more police boats out on the lake this year so be on your best behavior. The sheriff can write you a ticket for boating violations and fishing violations. I had one watching me while I was playing the chinook and he came by after I released the fish to check my license.

I've noticed the increase in police/sheriff boats as well.
Wonder how the little herring would do? Hmm I'll try that Sunday! Are the Kokanees still hitting the orange flatfish??
