By this time it would appear that I am now living at Lake Kapowsin but I assure
you that is not the case.(lol)
We had a family get together in the Graham area just off 264th. Anyhow, the majority
of the family lives to hop on dirt bikes and quads. I ended up running into my nephew, whom
I hadn't seen in a few months. He asked me if I brought any fishing rods?,...duh.
We went to Erickson's dock...again. We tossed a few cranks but I'm getting addicted
to the plastics. So I rigged up the green,pumpkinseed/watermelon 6inch Yamamoto
worm and lathered it in a crawfish scent. Minutes later had our first bass. Not very big,I suppose
a half pound. Then my nephew hooked into one as well, approx the same size...could have been
the same lmb. Needless to say,he was pretty happy and has his first largemouth under his belt.
All fish were released to grow much bigger. We'll be back tomorrow,GAME ON!!!

Weather was partly sunny and dry.

I agree with you, Kevin. I started bass fishing this year and though I tried a lot of different things and many that worked, I still love the plastics. I caught fish on spinnerbaits, easily, at times. I got them on crank baits but when I use a Texas rigged or dropshot plastic nightcrawler or senko, I am addicted, even if the fish aren't biting. I have not gone in quite some time because I painted the house and done some other stuff and I am now working out of town and now bow season is upon us, but the last time that I went I tried a weightless plastic 6 inch nightcrawler or a weightless lizard and was casting it on the lilliepads and just kind of skipping it across the water. When I got it to a pad, I would let it sit a few seconds, then jerk it across some more. I never caught a fish but had at least 20 water breaking boils as they were showing some interest. When not in the pads, I used a hook tied to my mainline to either a watermelon senko or a 6" plastic nightcrawler and I put a small nail, like 8 penny into the nose of the plastic and just fished that off the bottom.
To me, there are just so many ways to do the plastics and so many things to try. Also, I have to think that skill wise, plastics take the cake, I mean, I think that if you can catch them on plastics, you can catch them period. And, it seems so rewarding.

Sorry to take so long to get back to you as bow season started and I headed out of town for a week and a half. I have a small smokercraft so I get out there a bit. I usually go to St, Clair, even though it is much further from me as I live in Spanaway, but I have a lot more luck down there as opposed to Kapowsin.
