I wish I could have followed up RATSports luck. We needed some of that wind that he had to deal with. Only one fish to the boat for us this evening, but she was a good one at 4lb 4oz.

Water was 69 to 67 degrees and the weather was mostly calm. There has defineitly been lots of algae activity at the lake late this summer. All of the cabbage that we could see has a thick coat of green fibrous algae. Normally, these beds are where I've picked up a lot of bass this time of year but I have a feeling that these waters are pretty oxygen starved right now. Which is likely why RAT had good luck in heavy wind, oxygenating the waters.

The one we did catch came off rocky structure, little weed and algae growth, on a big spinnerbait.

hi there, actually the wind killed my fishing. it was kinda different, the calmer the water was the more bites i had. spinnerbaits worked better in the wind but as soon as it calmed down i have a little secret to get them to bite. (my email is available in my prof.) Prohawk is right the algae is really bad this year but you can still catch um big(as pictured, lol). nice bass! hopefully i can grab one of those big ones outa this lake this year, most my bigger fish are all out of clear and newman.

Thanks for the feedback RAT. That's funny how the wind worked for you. I went there because I had a killer day last October on a breezy day, breezy enough that I upgraded my TM last spring. Good luck on Rock this fall...

LOL one thing is for sure, you cant ever really count on bass doing the same thing in these Northern lakes. Rock should be good this year, we finally figured out some different tactics for those big browns, hope to see ya out there
