Fishing partner bagged out on me so I decided to try out island lake since its close. This was the first time fishing this lake this year. I arrived at about 9 am and luckily there is not a post in front of where you can put your boat in. I ignored the sign that says non trailerable boats and figured with it not being very nice that day no one would make a fuss. I used a spinner bait and covered the lake fairly fast picking up 7 or 8 bass all very small but aggressive. All but two were caught on spinner bait the others on a 5" kut tail watermelon red flake worm after missing with the spinner. All in all nice day even if the weather wasn't so nice. All fish were released to hopefully get bigger.
