Got to Scanewa around 0630. Water was clear with visibility to about 4 feet in the shallow areas...the deeper sections where the Cowlitz feeds into and runs through was cloudy. water temperature was 48F. Launched the 'toons and headed to the northwest corner trolling an olive leech. Had a couple hits but failed to set the hook good enough and lost them at the boat. Explored the lake while trolling and hooked several hatchery Rainbows, but landed only two. Found several fish surfacing in some dirtier (leaves and debris) water. My buddy caught his limit of five Rainbows using a red/brass Super Duper. Overall we had a good day. Looking forward to getting back there for some more. Left around 3:00.

What size rainbows are you catching there?

Anywhere from nine to thirteen inches. The larger ones hit on the leech, but had to sift through quite a few dinks to find the keepers with the Super Duper.
