I .hit Fish Lake Monday around noon. Launched at the Cove Resort only one other trailer in the lot. I no sooner got on the lake when the skies let go with a heavy mix of rain and snow, very cold on the hands! I drifted with a light breeze while I got set up ( 4" dodger chrome/green and a red Kokanee King spoon on 30" leader) and caught and released two fiesty bows while trying to get the trolling motor fired. I strarted my troll and got hit after hit but only got a third to the boat.
Switched to a snubber ahead of the dodger and was able land 90% of fish hooked. I put the snubber ahead of the dodger because I feel it hurts the action of the spoon to put it behind. These Kokanee King spoons really work! I fish them barbless with no scent or bait, all fish were released unharmed, must have released 20 in 2- hours of fishing all 8-12". Had to quit ,my hands were frozen.
Tight Lines and wide smiles!

Good report Genh3! Yesterday I was talking it over with a fishing buddy to go fishing up there... Were you trolling out in front of the cove and down the south shore by the cabins?

Actually the wind was up the long part of the lake so instead of fighting it Iwent with it. As I've found before the hot action was right down trhe middle right on top. I did go to a heavier dodger to fish at about 12', bigger fish but slower action. Good Luck

Do you have the perch dialed in for Fish lake or do you just fish for Trout?

I haven't done much perch fishing but I was looking to see if I could locate the main herd. There appeared to be a few clumps off of the primitive launch on the east side. My friends want to ice fish for them this winter. Brrrrr! We'll see.

C-n-R 20 trout Why not!!!! As long as you dont use bait in this state you can catch and release all you want. It is best with barbless hooks and at Fish I have caught and released over 80 fish in a day before with a black and olive woolybugger size 12 and a full sink line.

As long as you don't use bait you can C&R all day long. If you USE bait of any kind (even scent? not sure on that one) the first 5 fish count as your limit (released or not). Nice report and I commend yo on sticking it out in the rain/snow. Doesn't seem as cold when you are catching fish does it.
