Rufus Woods Lake Report
Douglas County, WA

Bottom Fishing From Shore
Rainbow Trout
Power Bait
Hook & Bait

Was very slow fishing on the Lower lake. Was nice to get out for a few ours and get some fresh air. Only fish we seen caught where from a boat along the barrels. Two Triploids and one really nice silver, which I had not seen a silver caught down that low in a long time.

Always next time and not a lot of pressure. I would go to the pens but normally to many people for me.

We where using our usual power eggs and power nuggets in varying colors.

Good luck all.

There has not been a lot of success stories coming from the bank fishermen on the lower end. Even Brants isn't producing as it usually does this time of year. Thanks, Mallotguy for taking the time to post and wishing you and yours a great and healthy new year.

I think the fish have got smart and realize the food source is near the old home in the pens. I may have to break down and fish with the crowds near them. Wish I had a boat LOL.

I have been watching this site for a while now and this is my first post. In watching the reports and it seems that Rufus Woods is the place to fish Trout. I live in Pierce County so it's a bit of a trip but believe I will have to make a visit there this spring. Been getting the itch to go fishing and have been working in the garage this weekend getting the boat ready. Probably will start hitting the lakes next month.

Yea, been watching the posts for Rufus Woods for some time and agree that blufin loui knows his stuff. Well, when I get ready to make the trip I will consult the experts. Great to hear that there are a few Kokes in the lake.
