Went to Waughop around 12PM. Started rainbow trout fishing the bottome with Powerbait with nothing. Let my line soak while I practiced pitching and flipping a Texas rigged 4" brown and chartrues tipped senko. about 20 or 30 casts later small ticks... I put a little tension on the line... tick tick tick and I set the hook. She jumped twice peeling a little line. Reeled her in and my guess is around a 4.5 - 5 lbs LMB. took some pictures and let her go gently so she could revive herself and splashed me as she swam away.

I really think it is so cool how catch and release has caught on. It is such a win win thing to do.

Man, why do you get the luck? I have fished for bass at waughop with crankbaits, texes rigged worms, swimbaits, etc, but nothing. I have tried at least five times. Read some of my waughop reports to see.

If you sent a few more pics like that to Loomis, maybe you could get the hook-up on a pole. (Wishful thinking)

good report man.....so you got your two-pole endorsement , eh? I was thinking about doing that for situations just like the one you've described......let some bait soak and cast around the edges with the other pole....two lines in the water sounds like fun!!!

ALRIGHT! I've been looking for a report from that lake. It's 5 min from my house, one of the finest bass holes in the state from what I have heard. See you there sometime.
