Potholes Open was this past weekend. It took over 47 Lbs. to win the tournament! Aaron Echternkamp won the tournament. Below is a picture of my two 5.5 Lb.+ Smallmouth caught on Saturday of the tournament. We had 24.09lbs. for the weekend taking 23rd place out of 116 boats.

Gear fish were caught on:
Lure: Yamamoto DT Hula Grub, KGM Beaver
Jig: Crunchtime Football w/ Gamakatsu EWG
Line: 12lb. Sufix Flourocarbon
Rod: Lamiglas Excel 705 (Those fish made my 5 power rod look like a trout pole sometimes!!)

Potholes is on fire! and will continue to produce great fishing through the end of May!!!!!

It seems pretty clear that he was fishing a bass tournament. I'm guessing he wasn't looking for walleye....just a guess.

Thanks Nick. Our friends were in the T as well and set us pictures of their over 6lb, and one over 5lb that they caught. Although the y limited I know they didn't win much if anything. We are headed over in about 10 days. Never fished there much so this will be an experience but plan to hit the dunes hard. Thanks for the report.

Hey Dessert Creek, I was well aware that he was fishing in the bass tourney. But given that he was on the water (and I wasnt) I was hoping he might have had his eyes/ears open to what was happening with walleye as well....just looking for current updates from those that might be in the know.........

I had a buddy who was fishing for walleye, and is a regular on the lake. He lost a monster walleye, and landed one about 5 lbs. But that was all for the weekend. He was fishing in Lind Coulee.
