Fished the sunrise bite on Saturday last. Rising rainbows on the west banks. There were a fair number of Damsel fly adults on the water, odd considering water temp. and early in the year. I fished an olive damsel nymph which produced 6 fish, caught and released. 2 @ 14-16" and 4 in the 20" class. They were some great fighters taking lots of line. The sun was out and the water was clear. At sunrise there were only two of us on the lake by 9:00am we had a rubber hatch of at least 25 water craft of every kind. Too many fisherman eved for the "Falls". Great morning action but the rest of the day was spent at Rocky Ford, which was awesome.

Great report for one of my favorite lakes (Even though I lost a rod to the roof monster once)

"Roof Monster" never heard that term before but knew exactly what you were talking about. I usually fall pray to the "Door Snapper". Dry Falls is one of the sacred spots to fish, I only get to fish it once a year but enjoy every minute. The fish are very well feed this year with the mild winter. The hatches are what you would see in late May.

Wow, I can imagine if there were 25 fishing it would change the feel of the experience a lot. Went out on my first Dry Falls outing Nov. 12, 2010 and it was me in my folding boat and just 3 float-tubes.
Guess I didn't know how lucky I was.
Now I've seen God's Country!
