4/26/2010 7:03:00 PMwhat is the secret I cant get a kokanee out of that lake for the life of me does corn make that much of a diffrence and I have tried all depths and nothing but cutts and bows for me! Not that cutts and bows are bad but I want some of them phat koks : ) .

4/26/2010 8:19:00 PMTo be honest, I don't know what the secret is. American is hit and miss for me when it comes to Koks however, sometimes I get it right. I mostly fish for Kokanee at various lakes in Western Washington and Green Giant White Shoepeg Corn is my bait of choice. I also use white or pink "Gulp" Maggots. Trolling speed is also critical. I try to keep it right around or just under 1mph on the GPS. According to the reports I've read, Lake Stevens and Merwin have pretty good action right now and Alder is starting to pick up. I typically have pretty good luck at Alder but the fish tend to run small.

4/26/2010 8:47:00 PMRight on thanks so the fish im marking down deeper are those most like to be koks how deep you fishing for those thanks alot ill have to try the corn next time!

4/26/2010 9:22:00 PMThe Koks tend to run anywhere from 25 to 35 feet deep at American however, early in the season you can find them close to the surface. I caught several last weekend at 15ft. Later in the season, as water temps warm, they go deeper. In July and August It's common to catch them at the 50 to 60 foot range.

4/26/2010 11:06:00 PMDont b afraid to fish deep for the koks, i catch most of my koks 5 to 10 feet off the bottom. I always get the big ones down deep. I usually fish in 45 to 50 feet of water.
