Figured I might as well check out a new lake in Pierce county since I had a dentist appointment in University Place this morning. Checked out a few (Rapjohn: too crowded..... Silver: too windy.... Clear: no good public bank access) and wound up at Tanwax public fishing area (checked out the dock at Rainbow "Resort" and didn't feel like paying 5 dollars to fish from a lawn chair next to the 15 people on the dock.... glad I did't waste my money at the "resort" because the public access area has plenty of room and fish for free.....TOTALS: 19 perch (4-9.5 inches) 3 rainbow trout (8-10 inches) 1 catfish (12 in).....all fish caught and released...... saw a russian guy get what I assumed to be a triploid (looked like all of 2 pounds) rainbow to shore only to have it spit his powerbait at him and get off at the last minute.....also watched a couple of kids going too fast in the no wake zone and then flip off the owners of the resort when they yelled at them to slow down....the kids were a little less confrontational when the owner of the resort showed up at the public launch as they were taking their boat out and let them know that the next time they pulled some sh*t like that he was going to stomp them (The actual conversation was much more R rated).... pretty f*ing hilarious to winess...... All in all, turned out to be a pretty pleasant three and half hours of fishing..

Good report. I drove out to the public boat launch tonight in search of another lake close by that I can fish for bass in. Hopefully, the weather will warm up a little as it was 45 degrees there tonight, and I am not going to launch my boat just to go out and freeze.

As far as them kids go, kudos to the resort owner. I can't stand disrespectful people and the truly do need to be put in their place.
