Every year for the last 6 years or more I've fished at least one day each year at this lake. And every year I have to be reminded that a) the only public shore access is the boat launch area b) lots of grass/weeds on the bottom and its shallow c) you should catch fish but ... d) pray for as little wind as possible because of how narrow the casting area is e) expect barking dogs to one side and a cranky home owner on the other....

There were 3 boats on the lake 2 were fishing either with spinners or worms or whatever they had. They didn't report how good or how bad it was but the guys using bobbers weren't doing that bad.

20 minutes in using Rainbow Power egg and Chartreuse colored Gulp Eggs and nothing happening. 5 minutes later a couple taking a walk come up to me and ask hows the fishing. At this point I'm thinking cold, wet, and to top it off the fish hate me. The lady asks if I had caught anything and I replied no nothing but a case of fishatitis... that of course is when the first of five started up.

About an hour and a half I was done. None of the fish were bigger than 8 inchers. I did lose several including one that put the word bend on my rod.

The water was very low for this time of year, it looked more like mid June/July depth. Lake was clear and while I got a lot of milfoil etc it wasn't as bad as past years.

As usual I will be back but it might not be until next year. Tomorrow its ding a Ling day... and if not more trout fishing somewhere for this ding-o-ling.
