5/12/2010 8:24:00 PMTry tube jig 1/16th oz in white or red and white pink white etc.. light line no heaver than 4# and do not jig it just imperceptible movements, tie on 2 at 1 foot apart and make sure your at least 3 feet off the bottom as crappie can only see UP, so better higher than lower. The Crappie should be on the spawn or very close to it which means in the pads or close to shore definitely near brush or overhanging branches. Try a balsa float with the jig about 18" under it, keep trying you will figure it out!

5/13/2010 4:40:00 PMIm going to have to try this lake out. My friend lives less than a block from it, and he says he catches fish all the time. How did you fish for them? Just a hook and worm on the bottom? Do you think slip bobbers will work? Thanks!

5/15/2010 5:54:00 PMSo how did you catch the bass? I was just there and i saw at least 12-13 nice bass, and i threw chunks of worms, whole worms, senkos, spinnerbaits but nothing. I was fishing the worms with a bobber.

5/21/2010 5:18:00 PMhey nickbell, during this time when the bass are spawning and protecting their beds, you sort of have to piss them off. keep throwing lures in their face and provoke them into biting. that's the easiest way right now. sometimes the bass will be in a hungry mood and want to eat something but for the most part they aren't interested in eating, just protecting their beds.

5/22/2010 6:28:00 AM@ nickbell i just noticed that you said you were fishing the worms with a bobber. the bass see the bobber and are immediately deterred away from biting. i would try to use a bigger size hook without any weight or a bobber and let the worm sink slowly. a more natural presentation will usually get you better results!
