Bill and I went fishing on Evergreen for the first time ever today. We were primarily fishing for walleyes but kept our eyes open for the ever elusive tiger muskies. We were mainly checking out the lake's topography and nooks and crannies. Bill did catch a little perch and I caught a keeper walleye. We were fishing in 20 to 30 feet of water using chartreuse worm harnesses. It was a beautiful day to be on the water even if we only got to spend the afternoon. Water temp. was almost 60 at the east end boat launch and down to 56 at the west end of the lake. There were quite afew others out fishing and even a couple of kayakers. The gate off of Rd 1 is closed for the season so you must use Rd. 3 or 5 to get to the launches.

Share a little secret about this lake for Walleye: Right around the corner from the East side launch just at sundown drift with the current through the mouth of the canal with a crawler rig that only has a small egg sinker or worm weight and fish open bail but keep your thumb on the line, you see any movement in the line pick up the slack and slowly reel until you feel them and by that time they have already taken it, but a little pull tease to make sure is good insurance. Sundown show there... :)
