with an uncertain schedule this weekend, I got off work a few hours early opted to brave the rain at sawyer. There was one other diehard out there with a reported 3 inches of water in his boat. (i thought holy cow, that seems like a lot).

I threw cranks, dropshot, etc, only thing I didn't try was spinners. no luck. no bites. moved around a bit. tried mostly spots I've caught before, and a few others. no bites, no luck.

I left with around 3 inches of water in MY boat, LOL.

if you snag a really nice emerald downs umbrella off the bottom, it's mine. I even brought home every little piece of garbage and fishing line I had to throw away, but lost a darn umbrella. I'm not sure why I thought that umbrella idea would work anyways.

The other day I had to drain the water from the boat from when Fishingmachine and I got rained on last Sat.

Let me know where you lost the umbrella, maybe I can find it. lol I have a camera by the way. [scratching head 'thinking' ]

LOL it's about 20-30 yards towards the middle of the lake off the south point of the 2nd island south from the launch. You know where that tree sticks out and bends up like a banana? probably 20-30 yards straight out from there, ish.

I almost called you to see if you wanted to go out yesterday but I wasn't sure I was going to go myself. I started out just working on fixing the breaklights on the trailer and all the sudden got a wild hair and went for it. After all, so many people claim fishing in the rain is some of the best bassing...

is that camera new? I don't remember you mentioning it last time I went out with you.

BTW, I did get one nibble, I think. over at big fish point. it was a new/huge rapala I was using. very cool lure, and I've been throwing the cranks like crazy. I couldn't get the fish to commit and i tried throwing a different crank, and then eventually a dropshot, and couldn't get another bite so I figured maybe my lure just caught the rocks... but it sure felt like a bite.

I hear you, it was slim pickings with such crappy weather yesterday. I had to cancel a senior fishing trip because of the weather and we had all planned to target smallies. I did get a little lucky at Steel, despite the conditions.
