Looks like you fishing the bank or jungle unless that is just where you decided to take your pics. Spawners?, caught them close to shore? A Bass pond I fish, I haven't seen a spawner on a bed yet! Other lakes have started and it is puzzling me why I haven't seen some at my pond? Maybe cormorants (dang birds) ate em up, but can't see that happening since hard for a bird to hold onto 5, 6, and 7 pders. Did you get a measurement or a weight on those?, curious cause I always guess and have arguements with a fishing buddy as to their weight. He says by a scale and I look at that as another dang thing to do with the fish out of water and could hurt em so I just take a pic and guess, I guess. Hey though, Nice catch, did you release em? Hope so, you know those are probably pretty old fish so the meat might not taste all that good anyway, besides the younger ones are better eating.

Nice fish you guys are pulling some pigs out of there lately. I didn`t think they had big ones in there. I know they killed off that lake back in the early 90`s I think. Must have populated very quick. Nice fish

mrkhammao, Nice catch! I love flipping the trees from the bank and ripping the fish out of the water! Good times!
Basser61@comcast.net, let me just do a a bit of math here to answer your question about C & R. Bank Fishing + 2 Pigs in Hand + 1 Black Trash Bag - 1 Live Well = Dead Fish.
BucketMouthCatcher, You hit the nail on the head! Spring time spawners are just to easy. I fished the chain lakes last weekend and found multiple spawning beds with some hefty hawgs ripe for the picking. It is so easy this time of year that I wish the state would make C&R manditory through these precious months.
I love batter fried bass but I choose to eat fish under 12 inches. They not only taste better but taking the little guys actually enhances a fishery. Killing the giant spawners does extreme damage to these small lakes. Have a great weekend!

Ya scottpratt hopefully his fishing buddy got one of them too so he wasn't over the limit (remember only one fish over 17 inches may be retained). Looks like those pigs were dead judging not only by the bag but by their fins being glued to the sides of both fish in the photo.
They are a beautiful pair of fish! No question there :-) Nice catch and photo mrkhammao!

those are some nice fish. i hope you were fishing with somebody else because like the other people mentioned, you're only allowed one bass over 17 inches.

Those fish are so dang dead you can see the slime coat sticking to the fish. People keeping fish like this are killing these lakes, those fish are BIG ! Doesn't help when someone posts a report of a "9lber" either.
