Got a couple of hours free time today so went to McIntosh for some Large mouth action.- Water temp high 68 degrees-water clarity 6 inches to a foot the alge bloom is on and has stained the water green.-windy white cap waves with sun-best lure black/ blue jig with craw trailer-presentation Flippin dead brush in 2 foot of water-strikes 2 landed one 5 lb Bass- Got to see it follow jig up to limb as i was pulling over to drop to bottom and she took jig and swam off.-looks like she is a late spawner from the condition of her tail and vent.-While I was retieing my jig and the wind had pushed my boat up against the old floating logs a osprey hit the water about 40 ft or so from my boat and cane up with a bass. Nice job Dave and thanks for the info. Just curious but has the milfoil taken over yet?

Milfoil has shown up in certain spots but not all the way up. A little bit of blow in from prop chop. Water is still able to trout troll. Talked to local on dock and said that the lake front owners are forming some type of community looking into milfoil problem.maybe with a weed. Told them my opinion about planting Grass carp which is no way after Silver Lake disaster of no Dollar pads left No reed fields left and fish supposed to eat weeds only. Seems kind of funny that i have caught these fish on SpinnerBaits ,Plugs, and top water floating lures. The Carp supposed to live only 8 to 9 years and now its been 15 or 16 years and be sterile. Why so many different size ranges if they were planted at the same time???

Thanks Dave, much appreciated. I love this lake but havn't caught a toad out of here yet...but I have seen them,keyword..(seen)
Are they thinking about dumping grass carp in here? I don't know much on the species but did catch my first common carp from Silver earlier this year. I've heard mixed views on the grass carp in Silver but again...I really don't know this lake well or the history,
so basically,I have no real clue as to their impact on the fishery. All I know is the family and I are camping out at the resort(Silver)
for the 4th and we're gunning for bass and crappie, anything to have a great family fishing trip. Ok,I'm rambling....thanks for the info
and best of luck to you this season.
