Rented a boat and explored the lake all day. Fished the the far eastern shoreline from Ericksons and the island. I wanted to catch crappie, but I caught all kind of panfish. Caught 2 rock bass, 2 perch and 2 largemouth on a worm and bobber. Caught one largemouth on a senko. Then I finished the day by catching 9 bluegill with bobber and maggots from the dock. I also trolled for trout and had 2 short strikers. Still no crappie for me.

The only crappie I saw were caught by a fly fisherman and another boat. I used a 1/16 oz jig 2 feet under a bobber and never got a bite on it. I casted the jig out and twitched it back to the boat, I am not sure if thats the right way to catch crappie.

I saw some guys capsize thier boat. Other boaters on the lake went to assist them . The trolling battery on the rental boat was almost on empty, so I couldnt assist them.

Seen that a couple different times on Kapowsin. Mostly drunk guys hauling ass with a gas motor then bam over goes the boat. Used to happen at least a couple times a sumer.

Yeah, across the middle of that lake I will use my gas motor, but pretty slow. Other than there, it stays up out of the water. I have almost thrown myself out of my boat there by getting stuck on a stump and full power with electric motor to back off of it and then hit another stump from behind. I have never caught a Crappie there, either.

what time did they capsize cause me and my buddy went there and we kept hearing some one blowing a whistle..... was that why?

my brother and I have got our boat lodged up on top of a stump before teeter totter style, and this was using a slow electric motor, while LOOKING for stumps. sometimes they just elude you. Gotta be careful on this lake. I thought we going to lose our shotguns that time (duck hunting) and that was my biggest concern, LOL.

The boat capsized next to the island between Ericksons and the DFW boat launch around 730 PM. They had a gas outboard on thier boat, I heard someone sream out " Damn you Earl" and I turn around to see a boat taking in water. I got stuck on some timber too. That was with the 30 lb trolling motor. Had to use the back up oars to set myself free.

We tied to a stump only to find out the hole in the stump contained a HORNET NEST!! Horrible day...many years ago.

hahahaha i was there and i heard them capsize i was fishing plastics in an ericksons boat on the side of the island away from the launch and i saw them a few times but they were only idoling how did they capsize it XD
