We stayed at The Cove at Sun Lakes on Park Lake June 11th-15 and had a great time! Grandparents, kids, grandkids; 16 of us stayed at the Lodge. We didn't do any good trolling or still fishing from the boat, so we fished from the dock. We ended up with 4 browns, 4 rainbows and 2 tiger trout. The tiger trout ranged from 1.5-2 lbs; the rainbows ranged from 2-4.5 lbs, and the brown were 3.5-8 lbs. Big fish was caught by 11 yr old grandson-26" long 8lb brown. The 5yr old caught a 4.5 lb brown. We just soaked worms, but one of the rainbows was caught on powerbait and eggs. Not fast and furious, but you knew that when you got one it was going to be nice. We caught lots of bullheads, the trout were just stuffed with baby bullheads. If you have a group, this is a great place to stay, the kids fished and swam dawn to dusk. The owner, Bob is a nice guy and works to make sure your stay is enjoyable. I just wanted to pass along a neat place to stay: http://thecoveatsunlakes.com/.
The kids wanted to eat the fish, so we bar-b-qued up a couple of the browns and they were delicious-no muddy taste at all. Sorry-the pics aren't the best!
