Decided I wanted to get away from all the 3 on 3, and Ironman activities this weekend and get a little fishing in. Arrived at the lake at 2pm, got the pontoon boat set up, and was fishing by 2:45. Very few people on the lake, probably no more than 3 or 4 pontoons and an aluminum boat on the water. One large group of picnickers arrived and were attempting to transport a back yard full sized BBQ with propane tank across the water in a canoe! They made it about 10 feet before they realized it just wasn't going to work - just a tad top heavy. Before the inevitable happened, they wisely returned to shore.
Fishing was horrible, I only saw one fish caught in 5 hours. I tried trolling leeches and damsels on a full sink line in the deep water in front of the ramp, hit the shorelines with several dry and dropper combinations, all without a bite. Weather was beautiful - minimal wind, sunny and warm, (maybe too sunny), with very few clouds.
Most exciting part of the day was watching a rattlesnake swim across the lake. From a safe distance, of course.
No fish, but it sure beats doing yardwork.....
