Spent the 4th with friends on Panther Lake. Throughout the day we snuck away from the party to bass fish and did manage a few small bass like the ones pictured. Fun times with good friends. We mainly used Rapalas, and caught them near dollar pads and docks. The water seems cold yet to me for a real good bass bite. Come on sun!

Sir, you are the bass master of my local area, between Cassidy and your other reports you have your method down. One question, have you fished Martha lake that dumps into Cassidy at all and do you know of a way to access it at all? Thanks

dogfish7...Thanks for the compliment, but as a fisherman I am pretty limited to certain lakes and techniques...but I sure love to catch largemouth bass!

About Lake Martha : I did fish Martha in about 1987 very early in the season. A buddy and I got a little plastic boat back there and fished around the entire lake in a few hours. We got bit on almost every cast, but the biggest one was about 12 inches long. The fish were all about the same size (8-11 inches - similar to Lake Sixteen). I've never gone back because I didn't figure it was worth the chore getting back in there to catch stunted bass. To get there we parked on Hwy 9 at the bottom of the hill...followed a trail back to the power line road (part of the trail was 2-3 feet under water when we went there, so we actually got in the boat)...once to the power line road you head north at least 2, maybe 3 power poles...then there is an overgrown road/trail heading east back into the lake. There wasn't any development around there as I remember, and not much shore fishing either. Let me know how you do if you give it a try!
