Well summer has finally arrived in Western Washington, 78 and sunny. Water temp. 64. 12 LMB (no monsters) and many lost as the sun began set and the lake came alive. Damsels and Olive Dunns littered the surface as the heat sparked an awesome hatch. Its rare to see LMB take a dry fly but the feed was on and they took both adult damsels and olive dunns and weren't shy about it. Oh, and the planter rainbows were also enjoying the plentiful offerings as I caught 10 of those none bigger than 12". I haven't fished Horseshoe in several years so it was nice to hit it just right. While not catching any fish of great size it was alot of fun to have that kind of action.

Great to see a report on Horseshoe. Sounds like an active time. How's the road down to the water?

The road to the lake is open (no logging) and its good right up to the launch, which is still a mess, Craig no pro. here I think anyone could have done as well. Good luck and good fishing! Mel, back at ya (have you fished Mel's Slough lately?).
