Fished Nunnally Saturday, 9/11, morning/early afternoon. Lots of small (8"-10") fish and a moderate bloom that cut down on the visibility. Water temp. has been dropping, but obviously not enough at this point in the year. This lake is 2 -3 weeks away from decent fishing...if you can get you're fly through the planters to some of the fish Nunnally is famous for. Chironomid hatch started around 11:00 with very large (size 10) husks on the water. Caught three over 15" on a brown, copper-ribbed ice cream cone.
Access to the lake is nil. I walked 3/4 the length of the south shore and could not find a decent spot to launch. Spent over 20 minutes beating down shore vegetation that towered over my head and then had to muscle the float tube through the last 10 feet to open water. Just a recommendation...bring the machete and pruning shears or rent a float plane.
