My wife and I went to Offut lake the other day, We had a blast. Fishing off the public acsess dock was great, the woman at the shop was very helpful, she told us that a good spot to cast.

'If you go to the end of the dock and cast towards the white house on the other side of the lake then there is a drop off that the fish hang around"

We tryed that and we caught 3 small largemouth bass. The whole time that we where fishing there was trout jumpping out of the water all over. My wife decides she wants a bobber. She casted about 10 feet out and right away hooked up with a small trout. I quickly changed to a bobber as well and we both caught a ton of trout that day. Most around 12 to 13 in. The frirst one was the only one we took a photo of. even though its the smallest.

One more thing. When we went the dock was about to be worked on. the next few days to weeks its gonna be closed. I hope it gets opened soon!

Ton of trout...sounds like you caught more than your limit. Catch and release with bait stops at 5 fish period. Read the regs or face a fine. I am not trying to rain on your day, but regulations need to be followed.

Ten fish is a lot of fish to catch. For two people it's ten fish. Don't be a hater poacher hater. I hate poachers as much as you, probably more. But sounds like they did just fine. Unless they didn't.

I'm glad you took my advice from your Alder Lake posting and had a successful day. Offut is loaded with trout. This is what fishing is all about. Keep up the good work!

Great lake & report. As someone posted be4, im sure the "tons" could be just the limit, as im sure we all have said that a time or two.

Wow poacher hater, way to be a complete idiot and spoil a perfectly wonderful report. Thank you for the report guys! Glad you had an awesome time! From the looks of your picture it would appear that your fish is in fact a cutthroat trout, and not a rainbow :) look for the red SLASH marks on the throat, dead giveaway.
