12/26/2010 11:23:00 PMprobably 1.5 to 2 lbs both nice sized healthy bass i was happy to finally get some success fishing this year would like to get some tips on what i should use out there to catch some of those yummy crappies i keep hearing about people catching out there like what area of the lake i should go

12/26/2010 11:53:00 PMNice report! I'm astounded by what the large population of largemouth in that lake. Maybe that's why it's so hard finding crappie and perch - they're all eaten by those bass, browns and pickerel.

12/27/2010 10:17:00 AMThere are large amounts of perch and crappie to catch there especially in the spring. Ice fishing isnt the best time to catch quantity of crappie but the perch are usually there for the takeing. Not sure but dont believe Grass pickeral eat crappie and perch, their not like a pike just look like a small verson of the them. The bass in that lake seem to keep the spiny rays in check.

12/27/2010 7:54:00 PM@russ2683 - Regarding keeper sizes for perch, it just depends on what you want to fillet or skin to eat.; WDFW has unlimited size and creel for perch. Regarding largemouth bass, you can keep 5 a day, no minimum size, but you may only keep bass under 12", and/or you may keep one over 17" (of the five limit). State regulations are located online. You are correct regarding the crappie with a creel of 10, however they also have to be a minimum 9" in length - this regulation is lake-specific.
