Went out this morning for some Cutthroat fishing on lake Washington. Started fishing around 9 at the mouth of the cedar river. Didnt pick up anything until we move closer to shore along the west side of the lake by cedar creek around 12 where we picked up a 17 incher, lost a great take down, landed another 17 incher, and lost another decent bite. We were fishing mini cutt-plug herring down about 30 feet. Then, we headed over to the shallower water around the mouth of the cedar river, and fished in 20 feet of water, and picked up a 22 and a 20 incher on 2 passes. It was around 3 then, and the bite turned off and we headed in. We caught 4 and lost 2 all day, doesnt seem like a lot of fish, but they were big, healthy good fighting fish, and on lake washington, you cant expect much more. The two 17 inchers were kept, below, and the 2 larger fish, were released. The big fish below is a picture of the 22 right before being released.

I assume when you say, "Mini-cut plug herring" you are talking about the Brad's 3.0 mini cut plug? If so, are you replacing the stock treble hook with a single hook, or are you staying with the treble?

Thanks for the report! After fishing various other productive methods, I too have picked up several of these new lures recently (I can blame G-Man!) and can't wait to give them a try!!

I suppose I could wait for the pics to get attached, but I'm curious to know if the larger fish you caught were pre or post spawn. Nice job out there!

When i was fishing the lake, i was actually using a red label frozen herring on one downrigger, and a brads cut plug on the other. However, they each caught 2 fish, showing that you don't really need to use bait. And yes, i took off the nasty triple hooks on the brads lure. The pictures will be up soon, sorry they didnt come through first time. The 17 inchers both had eggs, pre spawn. The larger fish, as seen in the pictures were dark, and fairly skinny, but i cannot be sure if they were spawned out or just really close, the pics will be up soon, take a look.

The first fish is a spawned out hen, and she looks to be in great shape. She will pack on the weight quickly with all the bait that is in the lake. Nice pics!
