No luck today. Casted to lots of risers today but none taking anything. Saw two other guys fishing with powerbait. One guy caught 4 fish, including one that must've been about 18 inches. He gave them all away to fishermen nearby. Two guys in a boat pulled several from the middle of the lake. What irked me was a guy fishing from shore that hooked a fish on powerbait, dragged it out of the water and released it 5 minutes later. He stared down at the water for about 30 seconds, presumably at the dead fish he just let go. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt that it was deep hooked and that he tried his best to get it back in the water quickly. Please keep fish that are deep hooked, or bleeding, if legal to do so. They most likely will die a slow and painful death if you release them in that condition.

Lord/fly,, The 18" fish you mentioned... did it really appear to be a trout? I have caught LMB of that size in there, but both Bitter and Haller in my experience have been COMPLETELY planter trout lakes, with no holdovers or trips. Not doubting your vision at all, but would be nice to hear that it was a large trout.

I'm pretty sure it was a trout, either rainbow or cutthroat (couldn't be sure of which). It didn't have the body shape or color of a bass. I just measured 18 inches in front of me at my desk today and it must've been about that size. The fisherman who caught it was an African American man using a medium length spinning set up. If he happens to be there again I'll talk to him or you can if you happen to be in the area. I was definitely jealous.

The guy next to me pulled out 5 in front of me while I got nothing on Thursday.
