With a few hours to kill, I put the boat in at the public launch and headed up to the Mack Bar. I thought I'd try for a bigger fish, well no luck at the "bar", so I headed down to Rocky Point. Hooked up with a nice mack at Rocky point, but lost it about 40 feet from the boat. Worked my way down to the trench, and had several bites, and finally got one in the boat. It would go around 5 pounds. Also picked up one silver around 9 inches. Slow day for me, but a fish for the grill.

Good luck and tight lines

Lewis, did you look at that silver and think of Palmer? I was wondering if the gear used for silvers was any different when fishing same species in Chelan and Palmer?

Hi ya MotoBoat, I sure did think of Palmer Silvers. The silvers here in Chelan are running skinny this year. the ones I've caugh were 9-10 inches and about the size of a small banana. makes for some pretty small fillets for sure. I've heard they will pick up some girth once the plankton bloom starts ( around 50-52* water temp). The water temp has been running 45-46* so far. One thing different is water clarity. Chelan is "gin" clear, while Palmer is stained. Visibility was around 4-6 feet when we were there, so I think vibration will play more of a roll there. Not sure but flasher color--silver or metalic colors-- may work better. I just don't have enough experience on Palmer to be sure.
