Hit up Bitter Lake, yet again, this morning with The Quadfather. Snow was coming downn when we first put in but then the sun came out. Temperature was in the low 40's. Circled the lake trolling an olive BH woolly bugger and switched between a wedding ring and sinking Rapala minnow. Nothing until 9am when we hooked up with this nice bow. The strike came while the boat was drifting (no paddling). Got a little greedy afterwards and went for more. Lost the fly when it snagged something on the bottom on the shallows. -_-

The strike was pretty hard so it seems you just need to be in the right place at the right time and then the chance of a hook up should be good. Algae was everywhere and water clarity was pretty bad so use brighter colors. Tight lines! (Still not sure if I fully understand what that means...Tight lines: Keep your lines tight so the fish doesn't get away OR Tight Lines: Your lines are tight b/c you always got a fish on it....anyone help out with this? I'm confused) Whatever it means...TIGHT LINES!

HAhaha, your lines are tight because you've got a fish on. A lot sof methods of fishing involve slack line, say with a bobber, or a fly, but when it's a fish pulling back, it's what we're all here for.

Great. I'll go with that as the official definition. Thanks Nate.
