Went to Green lake for the 1st time this yr. The sky was blue but it seemed that one long cloud hid the sun from the lake today. When there was a break from a cloud the stocking cap came off and it was warm and felt summerish. Started the day stealing a rock from the island to use for an anchor but remembered batteries for the radio, go figure:) After that I fished with a slip bobber and worm off the south side of the island while I wrestled with some of my other ultra lights that haven't been used since last fall. Had the whole lake to myself it seemed, no bank anglers, no curious kayaker/ crew ppl cruising over my line, just me and the geese. Started trolling with my go to"the little cleo" and she pulled through for me. Every pass through the south hole BAMB! Not really bamb, more like catching twigs but still fun. Some caught air though and ended up catching a dozen or so. Not the biggest fish you've ever seen! Did one long stretch to the north end of the lake for hell of it and didn't get any. Went back to the island and returned the rock to its place, hope he has a good story to tell all his rock buddies. Great day all an all. All fish were released, not even the sweet perfume of fish on my hands to smother my fiance with:(

Nice job Bluegill. Now’s probably a great time to savor the solitude on an urban lake like Green Lake before the summer crowds take over. Nice sized fish on the right. Thanks for the report!

Might of been deserted because the warden has been visiting often lately for what I was told.

Yeah, looks like this wkend is suppose to be pretty nice so I might try it again. If that many people are afraid of the warden they must have something to hide. Oh well, more room for us!
