We launched at American Lake Park at 6:30 am. We worked the West side of the lake using a Red and Silver Uncle Wes we didn't even mark a fish on the finder. We then turned our attention to the Northern Island and worked our way around it, marked a few fish. Not even a strike. So we started zig-zagging from the Island to the Western shore, covered a lot of water, but only marked a few fish. Wind started picking up about 10:30am. And it got rough. Still not even a strike. We headed into the boat ramp and took a break and ate our lunch. We decided to work the NE side of the lake and use the wind to our advantage, I switched over to a Green and Silver Uncle Wes. We worked that area pretty hard and only got one strike. Well the wind let up for about 10 minutes so we made a mad dash for the southern end of the lake. I switched over to my old dependable Black and Green Uncle Wes and started working that area, in a couple of hours we landed 3 and lost 3. Wind and rain started getting worse so we called it a day. Hardest 3 fish we ever landed. Definitely earned everyone of them. I'd fish this lake again. I think it probably has some decent size lunkers in there. Still had a good time and it was the first time I've ever worked the lake. Only seen 3 others caught all day. I'm sure it's like any other lake, put the time in and learn it and it will pay off.
