"Haller Lake (15 acres) is accessed via a small
clearing to a limited shore fishing area; there is no boat launch, but car-toppers and inflatable
rafts and similar devices can be carried from Meridian on the north shore and North 125th
Avenue at the west end of the lake." When I drove there, access looked like an impossible tangle of brush, and no parking.
Did You launch from Meridian & 125th?

5/5/2011 11:54:00 AMyes we launched from the west end on 125th via stone ave n., and it's foot path only, so you'll have to hand carry over bollards and down a path about 100ft. The park is not lighted so bring flashlights if fishing after dark, it is a neighbor hood cul-de-sac with very limited parking.

5/5/2011 1:25:00 PMHaha, I don't know man. That 100 feet felt like 500 feet to me. Definitely, you'll need a flashlight or headlamp to prevent from stepping into the deep end when you take your boat out at night. The water and shoreline are indistinguishable at around 9pm in that area. Doesn't feel like the safest neighborhood either.

5/5/2011 7:38:00 PMI went there last summer around dusk. There was a group of people drinking alcohol in the open. They just made me feel uncomfortable.

5/5/2011 8:47:00 PMOK...my 2 cents worth. Forget the N. 125th Meridian entrance, that applied in the '70's. The only entrance now is West side of lake, 125th. I go here all the time. I don't think that it is that difficult of a hand carry launch. If you have a buddy, and you can carry your boat 700-800' from the car, you will be fine. Just move on past the people drinking, and you will be fine.

5/6/2011 11:27:00 AMIt's fishing in the hood - don't leave the car running while you carry your boat down to the water... Lord of the Fly, i need to start working out, that Canoe does get kinda heavy.

5/6/2011 1:23:00 PMBitter has a parking lot (Haller is street parking only), but the carry is about the same distance. As far as the people drinking, Haller access is a small/narrow park no real way to avoid em, Bitter is a larger park and if there are partiers there, they are going to be in trees, not the open area where you would launch.
