Ali and Dave Bellerson came out with me again on the 22nd. They were up visiting from Arizona, and this time they brought their son from Billings, Mt. It's nice to have people out there that are already trained... It was a beautiful morning. We got a chance to solve some of the worlds problems and to catch up on each others lives. We got a few fish in the lower basin, then moved to Manson Bay to finish it out. Once again Luminous Chartreuse U20 Flatfish worked at 1.3 to 1.6 mph within 5 feet of the bottom was the ticket. The floating debris was a real obstacle out there. I don't remember rafts being that dense with that big of wood. Slowing down is going to be mandatory for the big Memorial Day weekend.

I am always amazed at the gut on those things in Chelan. What are they eating?

Most of the time your seeing the expanded swim bladder due to bringing them up from extreme depths. A lot of these fish are gorged on clams, northern pikeminnow, kokanee and young of the year lake trout.

Got it. Clams? I was not aware that we had any native freshwater clams in Washington.

They are as big as coarse sand or very small gravel. Mostly, stomach contents right now are other fish.
