Started out on the lake at about 9:30am.Right off the bat I marked a school of some nice sized fish from 25-40 ft down so I put a Cultiva rip n minnow down 30 ft on a downrigger. No more than time to sit down when bam! line is yanked out of the release and reel is screaming out line.I fought the fish to the boat several times, while I was reaching for the net the plug popped out of the fish's mouth. This fish was a mid 20's rainbow.I figured that would be the only decent fish for the day.Man I was wrong.I put my plug back down where I had it and about 15 minutes later it is jerked out of the release again. This time I put the net under a 20 inch German brown.I am feeling better now.I trolled around a few more hours catching some decent bows, the bite dying off at times, then once again about 2pm bam! line is yanked out of release again and reel is screaming. After a 5-7 minute battle I slip the net under a 23 inch brown.I ended up keeping 3 badly hooked rainbows in the mid teens and 2 decent browns.Pulled the boat out at 3 pm and headed over to Potholes res.

Nice browns! I was hoping that Park and Blue lake would start to kick out some larger fish and it looks like they are.

I caught both fish between the first house and the big rock island in about 45-50 ft of water. There are fingerlings swimming all over by the launch so a lure that best matched them is what I ran.I used 2 rods.one on Downrigger, and one on leadcore.only the Downrigger one got hit.

Great work! Did you end up getting anything at Potholes that night?

I only ended up with one eater sized walleye.Missed quite a few,but they were really biting light.

thanks, I noticed the fingerlings hanging around.. I have always done well over by the vacation homes- also trolling along the south rock heading west/south towards the other end of the lake.. picked up my biggest rainbow there- 20"er on a fire tiger needlefish
