Headed for Silver lake about noon after striking out badly at Tanwax, Launched the boat at the all too shallow boat launch at the resort. Asked the young lady at the resort if they still plant rainbows, German Browns and Brook trout in the lake. She said they no longer plant any brook trout but still do German browns and rainbows, The resort has for many years raised up to a 100,000 trout in there pens and released them just prior to opening day. Well when we got there it was blowing hard I had wanted to go bass fishing but it was just to darn windy, Well thanks to my new Minn Kota Bow mount Auto Pilot (you just set it and forget it) we were able to troll with little difficulty with the wind My pal Jurgen was using a colored dick Knight Spoon tipped with a little night Crawler and caught a couple of nice 13 14 inch rainbows They were fatter then the trout I am used to seeing at Silver lake. I will try coming back in October we used to catch lot of brown trout pulling a Henly special fly after the surface temperature cools off it October.
good luck too all
