Fished from the 11th to the 17th on the south end of banks lake. Stayed at the city park and had my dads boat at the dock. Unfortunetly It got broken into twice along with several other boats. The boat was locked the first time. They only took fishing poles and a box which they thought was tackle but was just cheap tools. The second time we accidently left a tackle box down below. The walleye were not easy to catch but we got 3-4 keepers a day. Caught several 15 inch walleye but 16 is the minimum size. The weather was windy for two days and we couldn't really fish but on the 17th we found a good group of walleye and caught eight nice big ones. Tried the new technique of using a slow death hook and it does catch walleye just as good as spoon spinners and you get less snags. I tied up a hybrid spoon spinner with a slow death hook and it worked better until it got lost in a snag up. Also the crawdads are excellent and fairly big. Use fish carcass as bait.

Its too bad some crooks gotta try and spoil a good time. Sounded like a fun trip despite them though. We were there a couple wknds ago and saw some of those crawdads in the smallmouth we were catching, looks like they enjoyed them too. Banks is such a beautiful lake...anybody have any trout tips for that lake, we caught everything in there but trout

Not sure what size your boat is but sounds like it's plenty big enough to handle the wind. WALLEYE LOVE THE WIND ! In my 50 some years of fishing for Walleye, the best fishing has been on windy and overcast days, you want the "Walleye Chop", of course not foot high white caps. Switch to heavy jigs tipped with worm or pull big plugs along the shore or break lines..

LastCast, I've done well on trout using Rapalas trolled on a 15-20' leader behind a sink tip flyline. I strip it all the way to the dacron backing on my flyrod and troll in an "S" pattern along the drop-offs. There are some very nice trout in Banks. Saw one caught by a bank fisherman last year at Coulee Playland that was over 6 lbs. Good luck!
