Coretron and myself did some pond hopping over last Saturday. We started at the Easton ponds. I caught 1 small chub and had numerous bites.Basically was skunked at the Easton Ponds. We did see a couple very fat large Muskrats in the ponds which I'm sure they were gobbling up fish. . We ventured on to this lil pond at the start of the Old Canyon Road to Yakima. The lake was super fishy and very choked out with weeds and aquatic grasses. There were signs posted saying they were poisining the grasses . we saw lots of fish but by now the sun was getting up there and it was very hot. We went into Yakima to get a few fruits and veggies then ventured to the pond right off Thrall Road. We saw lots of fish but they were not cooperating with us. By now it was at least 95 degrees . For the most part we were skunked . Although we had a good time. To me thats what counts.

Yes, really fun trip...learned about some new spots. Thanks for taking me Rac...
Our timing wasn't really about catching fish as much as checking out the opportunities and enjoying the sun/scenery.

was that McCabe pond? If so, it really is better early. The stream just a little ways back where it heads to the Yakima used to be good for trout, but check the regs. The littler ponds are better, and even Fiorito. Good luck!
