The Drumdog and I left home yesterday at about 9:45am. We had just put on our shorts, tank tops, and flip flops and we were ready for a beautiful sunny day of Pike fishing. Oh wait a minute, that was a diffrent day. Yesterday The Drumdog and I left home at about 9:45 and headed to Coeurdalene Lake for some late fall pike fishing. Ya that's it. We hit the south end of the lake and started fishing at about 11am. I got bit right away but was unable to hook up. It took about another 20 minutes to find another interested fish but after 1 1/2 hours of fishing I had 3 pike in the boat. One fish went 4 1/2 to 5 lbs and the other two are the fish in the photos you see here. Both fish were the same size at 33" and nice and fat. You'll notice the missing color on the fish on the right. She rolled like a gator as many of the other fish did for some reason. I saw the fish hit about 30 feet from the boat and those light colored spots were on her when she hit the bait. It looked that way on both side of the fish. Not sure if it had some kind of fungus or if it had done the "Gator death roll" in a previous fight and someones line damaged her skin. The fish was very healthy, and when released, gave me quite a shower. One slap of that tail and I was wet head to toe. These fish are feeding and still hitting very aggressivly right now. I just hope they are still in the mood when I go back next weekend. The weather cooperated with us and we saw no rain or snow fall. Water temps were 43 to 48 degrees all day. The sun only peaked through a couple of times but the layered clothing did the gob and made it a comfortable day. I finished the day releasing 13 pike. The Drumdog caught one to. Oh and a pretty nice largemouth. The two fish pictured were the biggest but had a couple in the 27-28 inch 6lb range as well. If you're not afraid of dressing for the weather and getting out there, they can still be caught. Happy Fishing

I don't know what AJ's Dad was fishing for, but I thought we were after Yellow Fin Tuna.
So....in theory, we both were skunked in that respect.
I do admit though, those two, 10 pound pike he caught were pretty nice.
