In answer to your questions Kokaholic, I was only using a small splitshot & running at least 100' behind. I was trolling against the current & just barely moving along the canline. I hope this helps if you try your luck. There was only two trailers in the lot & both boats were on the opposite side from me, so I couldn't see how they were doing. It took me longer to load my boat by myself than what it took to catch the two fish!
