What a beautiful day. You needed to be spot on with your casting abilities today if you wanted to get bit. Blue bird skys, super stained high waters, and no wind made it a tough day. Wait, no wind on Rock? This was a 1st for me, and what few little breezes that did push through made the old arm tucker trying to make as many casts possible before it died. It was like, hit that submerged rock inbetween that brush pile, and that log with a small pocket of shade on it, and you MIGHT get bit. We covered some ground today and ended up with 6 fish. Two taildancing browns that we released, and four bows that are in the smoker right now. All and all not a bad day, but certainly not the norm. Lots and lots of boats on the water. Surface temp is still hanging around 40. Big fish of the day was pushing 22 inches. Thinking the big browns moved into the adjacent deeper water, or have a desirable food source created from the high water. I got a sunburn! Anyone else catch anything other than a sunburn?

Hey Dave- fantastic job saving those boys at rock lake. You sound like you know that lake very well. I have been there twice and just luckily had no trouble. I was unaware until recently re: the under water rock formations. I do see some on the left, heading out of the boat launch, but can you give me an idea where the dangerous formations lie? or are they scattered and plentiful?

Thanks Much,

mrmojo
