So I fished Hog Lake today for the first time. I should also say it was my first time ice fishing. The weather was great, overcast about 35 degrees and the ice was about five inches thick across the lake. There were a few other anglers out there attempting the same thing I was. Whoever catches fish in this lake, please let me know how to do it. I was using a Swedish Pimple baited with maggots and was jigging it in about 8 feet of water right off the bottom. I'll bet I fished for four straight hours without a single hit or bite. I didn't see one person catch a fish all day. Other letters I'd read indicated good fishing, but either I was doing something wrong, or the fish have all been caught.
