Fished Eloika from 1:00 - 5:45 on Sunday afternoon with Pat Perez. Fishing started out good as I caught a 2 lb Largemouth on my 2nd cast on a 8'' Zoom Lizard but it tapered off after that. Pat & I both caught a few on senkos & I caught 3 on a swim bait. We totaled 8 Bass in a little over 4 hours, none being over 2 pounds, Pat caught two & I ended up with six. Talked with a few other guys who got skunked but another said he caught two 5 lb Largies & a Big Smallie? Never seen a SMB come out of Eloika but they are in Fan lake which is just up the road & connected by a good sized stream. So who knows? BTW he held up one of his "5 pounders" he had trailing his boat on a stringer & I didn't have the heart to tell him that if that was a 5 pounder then I've caught multiple state records from Eloika in the past. Anyways...can't wait for the spawn!

I have caught smb in horseshoe and fan lake and you know they all connect it's just a matter of time. Thanks for the great report.

Has to be over 17 inches to keep it on a stringer, so it was a big bass, maybe he was just rounding up. Better to let 'em go but if its legal its your choice.

That is a funny report, i think i would crap myself if i cought a smallie out of eloika. Hopefully the weather warms up some and the fishing picks up soon.
