Took the kids to Jennings for the John's Sporting Goods/Everett Steelhead Club derby. As usual the volunteers did a great job for the kids, and the fishing was good. I was disappointed that the pond had flooded and only 1/2 the lake was accessible. The result is that you caught your one fish, and then had to leave so another child had a spot to fish. Not sure how Marysville Parks managed to screw that up, I'm sure there was some explanation, but you'd think with the huge turnout this events gets every year, they'd have had their ducks-in-a-row for this one. Too bad, it certainly didn't enhance the kids experience, and made it more of a hassle for everyone than it had to be.
