6/23/2012 9:26:00 AMWenas has not been planted with trout for about 5-6 years now, the irrigation district (which owns the lake), could not come to an agreement with the state for a long term lease. So the state quit planting it and maintaining the outhouses.

I went the web to read about this lake and didn't first look here. the old report was talking of big browns and undated. my surprise as I found out after I was off the lake that the fish are a ghost from the past. A local said that they had even let the lake go bone dry several times since the turf war that really made sure that the lake was devoid of all fish.
