Hit Echo lake (in Shoreline behind Costco) this evening. In the water by 6:00 pm, out by 9:00pm. Started in my tube at the beach area, worked my way SLOWLY counterclockwise. Took me 3 hours to circle the lake, like I said, SLOWLY.

Water was very stained, about 3' visibility. Started off throwing a white spinner bait. No hits. Went to a drop shot rig, with a sniper bait, watermelon colored? I fished that the rest of the night. Usually that will prodcue SOMETHING...
Anyway, I couldn't pull a fish to save my life. I did have a fair amount of very little strikes. I was pitching it into the shoreline, or near the pads. Wait... twitch twitch... slow retrieve, stop.. more twitch, yadah yadah.
These fish felt about 4-5". woopie.
Guy in a rubber raft was trolling a Panther Martin, had nice strike as he went by. Lost the fish. Saw about 1/2 doz. bankies working the bank. I did see 2-3 presumably trout jump or roll over.
Very slow. I've only fished this lake maybe twice since about 1977, funny to be hear after 35 years.

Something kinda funny. I considered launching here on 3 or 4 occasions during the same day. In the end, finally walked the dogs by Echo around 5 or 6pm. After dropping off a DVD at Redbox.
35 years! I imaging the biiiiiiiiiiiig condo units on the South end were not there when you last visited. Other than that, I suppose the lake is pretty much the same as you remember it?

Ya, what is funny is that the beach access area that you see now, used to be all cleared of bushes. It was quite long. It would be loaded up with old men and 10 y/o boys like myself, on opening day. The same log that sticks up out there is still there. As a kid I thought what a "Dream" it would be,,, whoopie.. if you could get out to the log, and find all the stuck lures that must be on it.
I wasn't very impressed with the condition of the lake I must say. Don't know if it's an algae bloom or just crummy water, but terrible visibility.
