First time to the I-82 ponds, and will probably be my last. It was horrible. The shore access was poor, as the Russian olive trees have created an impenetrable thicket in most places around the periphery. The pond is thick with milfoil, making fishing difficult. There were some bluegills in the weed beds, but they were small, and exceedingly unenthusiastic about biting. Perch seemed non-existent. Nobody else was catching much, either.

I tried flies under a bobber, tipped with worm bits, worms, etc. The fish would peck, but not bite.

It might be better if one had a jonboat or pontoon boat, as you could actually access the lake.

Very displeased about driving an hour one way from the Tri-Cities to explore this place. Yuck.

You forgot the garbage and Graffiti. Hope you didn't have to use the bathroom. Pond 4 takes some getting used to, and if I was an hour away, I wouldn't fish it much either. If you try again, hit it in the spring, before the milfoil bloom. It can be good, but only at times.

In addition to what fishinChristian wrote, the bank access IS lousy. When the water warms the fish like perch, crappie and bigger gills head out to deeper weed beds that are very difficult if not impossible to access from the bank. A boat at any time of the year there is always better. I would be plenty discouraged had I driven an hour as well. Cats and smallies are on the tear in the Yakima though brother. Better luck next time.
